Three Dead, Dozens Hurt in Attacks on Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, Abha Airports

Emergency services responded swiftly to both locations. Reports indicate the injured received immediate medical attention. The precise nature of the attacks at each airport, including the specific munitions used, remains under detailed investigation by Saudi officials.

Foreign Nationals Among the Deceased

The Ministry of Interior released a statement confirming the nationalities of the deceased. The three individuals were identified as foreign workers present at the time of the strikes. This grim detail underscores the indiscriminate nature of such cross-border hostilities.

Damage assessments are ongoing at both Riyadh and Abha facilities. While initial reports focus on casualties, infrastructure integrity is a key concern. Air travel operations faced temporary disruptions, but resumed swiftly where feasible, a testament to rapid response protocols.

Accusations Leveled at Houthi Rebels Amid Regional Tensions

Saudi officials have squarely placed the blame for these assaults on Houthi rebels from Yemen. These attacks are seen as a continuation of a pattern of cross-border aggression that has plagued the region for years. The ongoing conflict in Yemen frequently spills over into Saudi territory, often targeting civilian infrastructure.

International bodies have repeatedly called for de-escalation. Such incidents risk further destabilizing an already volatile Middle East. The frequency and sophistication of these attacks remain a serious concern for regional security analysts.
